Hi I'm Jon Gunzel and welcome to the next lesson in the Stories to Success System.

In this lesson, we are going to get you set up with the single most useful system of any business.  We are going to get organized and ready to capture and create amazing ideas you'll use every day to expand your business.

{S2S Intro Splash}

Really when you think about it, a business is simply the organization of chaos.    Most things in this world have already been invented or you can already get for free on the internet or buy on Amazon.  So why should we spend our valuable time building a business if it's all been done before?

Here's the thing, you can probably find all the information in the Stories To Success program by watching YouTube and taking other training courses.  We spent 20 years and half a million dollars in training to learn how to create businesses that work.

What we offer and what you will be able to offer with your products, is a clear, concise organization of all that time and money that our clients can purchase to accelerate their success at a much lower price point.  When you distill your knowledge and experience down to the essential steps a client needs to get them their desired result, that's where value is created.

So, we are going to explore what you know and what your experience is, in Module 1, but first we need to setup an organization system to capture all the amazing ideas, thoughts and content you will be creating.

Of course there are lots of ways to organize, but only a few that work well enough to organize all that is a modern successful business.

My favorite way to organize and the one I will suggest for you is to use a free program called Microsoft OneNote.  I based my OneNote Organization off the e-book OneNote, User Guide To Getting Things Done by Jack Echo, but it's been heavily modified since then.  (Don't worry, I'm going to GIVE you my exact organization system at the end of this lesson)

Once you install Microsoft OneNote on your devices and setup your free Microsoft account, you will be able to write, sync and retrieve your notes across all your devices and computers.  It's best to set it up for the first time on a computer.  It takes a little work, but it's well worth it.  Then, no matter where you are, you always have access to the exact same organization system and the exact same notes.

It's vital to my success.  As a matter of fact, in Module 5, the Product Module, I'll show you how we built the entire Stories To Success System in OneNote before we ever recorded a word.

For this first step, you will only be using the INBOX feature in OneNote.  I'll explain the rest of the tabs as we go along, but for now, anytime you have an idea for a product, advertisement, client or anything related to your business, you're going to create a new page in your inbox, title it and add the idea below the title.  That's it.

It may be tempting to put your ideas all on the same page, but trust me on this one, create a new page for each and every separate idea.  It will really help with organization later.

From this moment forward, EVERY SINGLE IDEA you have about your business gets titled and goes in that inbox.  They don't even have to be complete thoughts, but if they are, that's great.  Quotes, inspiration, product ideas, client ideas, they all go in there.

The idea is, nothing gets stored in your head and nothing gets stored on paper.  You want to have access to it on any device at any time and Microsoft backs things up in the cloud so you have a great system for organization.

Any of the exercises you complete or notes you take on paper, you should retype in OneNote when you are done.  The idea is you want to build a treasure trove of all the information you learn, create and develop all along the way.

This quote is my favorite quote on why we organize.  "Using My Process As My Guiding Force, Frees My Intuition To Be My Guiding Path." - Ted McGrath, Never Be Closing.  The idea here is if you use the same structure every time, you won't have to spend time thinking about how to organize, and you'll be free to come up with the new ideas that make your business unique.

This entire program is based on a structure that you will learn as you go along.  Do yourself a favor and master these techniques, incorporate them into your life so you don't have to waste brain power trying to remember them.

Your action steps for this lesson are:

  1. Download Microsoft OneNote and install it on your computer and devices
  2. Download and open the Blank OneNote GTD Template OneNote File from this page and open it in your OneNote
  3. Add the quote from Ted McGrath as your first OneNote Page in your Inbox

Looking forward to Lesson 5, we're going to teach you how to create time by integration.

Your organization will only be as good as you make it, so I know you're going to put your best effort into this lesson and reap the rewards for the rest of your life.

Keep up the great work and we'll see you in the next lesson.
